This past weekend was International Museum Day, which is always celebrated on 18th May. So of course we could not let the day go by without a visit to a museum. It had been pouring with rain all morning, which for most people is ideal museum weather – personally I like museums in all kinds of weather – but by the time we’d made it to the Jewish Museum next door the sun had come out, so we could not pass up the opportunity to hang out in the museum garden.
Watching the fountain, which kept disappearing only to erupt to full size again like a geyser a few seconds later was a particularly popular pursuit. We spent at least half an hour there and it was great to watch the anticipation on #MuseumBaby’s face every time the water disappeared, followed by excited shrieking when it came back.
It was a bit too wet to lounge in the deck chairs, but instead we lounged in the museum’s amazing glass courtyard and treated ourselves to mugs of hot chocolate and slabs of cake instead. It was after all a day to celebrate ;)
