Save the Date: Berlin’s first ever ‘MuseUp’

Happy Museum Monday everyone! Apologies if today’s post is only relevant to anyone in or near Berlin, but I wanted to share with you the latest project from Museum140, which is launching exactly one week today.

You may already have heard of Tweetups – meetings where Twitter users get together in real life, either just to socialise or to attend an event. And to tweet about it of course. Since last Autumn, there have been a series of museum Tweetups happening in Germany, starting in Munich with Frankfurt following earlier this year. These usually take the form of guided tours, where the participants tweet a running commentary with their impressions, photographs etc, whilst other Twitter users can join in online, e.g. by tweeting questions.

Now Museum140, in co-operation with Timeline e.V., is bringing this concept to Berlin, under the new name MuseUp (museum + tweetup). Our first MuseUp will be on Monday 12November, 6pm, at the C/O Berlin – International Forum For Visual Dialogues – with a guided tour around the Joel Sternfeld Retrospective. If enough people are up for it, we’ll head out for a drink afterwards.

Attendance is free, but places are limited so if you want to take part make sure to sign up quickly on Eventbrite as tickets are going fast. There’s an option to choose between a German or an English tour.
