So, that’s Ask-a-Curator over for another year –  the biggest Q&A session with museums worldwide, via Twitter (if you’re hearing about it for the first time, I wrote a bit more about what Ask-a-Curator actually is in my previous post). Yay, it’s #AskACurator today! There will be a lot of tweeting from me. Followers, you have been warned ;) — Jenni Fuchs (@jennifuchs) September 16, 2015 This was the third year that I was following my ‘3 Questions’ approach for Ask a Curator. The first year, I […]

It’s that time of year again – the now annual ‘Ask a Curator’ global Q&A marathon for museums and museum lovers takes place again tomorrow. The event was first created in 2010 by UK based arts marketing agency Sumo, and has made annual return appearances since then by popular demand, with Mar Dixon from Culture Themes taking over the organisation from 2012.   For those of you hearing about it for the first time, Ask-a-Curator is basically a worldwide question and answer session, where interested members of […]

If you love museums and you love social media, then you will have loved this year’s Ask-a-Curator earlier in the week – the biggest Q&A session with museums worldwide, via Twitter (if you’re hearing about it for the first time, I wrote a bit more about what Ask-a-Curator actually is in a previous post). Everyone knows that cats rule the internet. It’s no different in the world of museums, as you will know if you follow the account @CuratorialCats and their hashtags #MuseumCats, #MewseumMonday and #MewseumSelfie on Twitter. Today, @CultureThemes is giving #MuseumCats a boost by hosting it as one of their monthly themes. Time to dig out some museum cats from my archives! Last year, I found myself in the interesting position of visiting not one, but two cat museums! And even more interestingly, both museums house private […]

Party like a Dino!

This month, the Children’s Museum Indianapolis is celebrating the 10th birthday of its Dinosphere, an immersive paleontology exhibit that takes you inside the sights, sounds, and smells of the Cretaceous Period. To mark the occasion the museum’s social media team is hosting a Twitter Party today (12 March), and everybody is invited! I thought this would be an excellent excuse to round up some party guests and share some of my favourite museum dinosaurs with you. First up, there’s this fierce specimen from the dinosaur […]
