100 Museums Challenge: Museums No.15 (revisited), 94 & 95 So, it’s taken me a while to download and edit my photos, but I still need to tell you about Berlin’s ‘Lange Nacht der Museen’ (Long Night of Museums) that #MuseumBoy and I attended last weekend! He got to choose where we go, and he chose three museums. In fact, he chose the same three museums as last year. But hey, it’s all about having a good time and he clearly knows what he likes. Both years, these […]

It’s that time of year again, and this time it’s kind of crept up on me – tomorrow is Berlin’s annual Lange Nacht der Museen, or Long Night of Museums, in its 36th edition. 77 museums are taking part, with around 700 events to chose from. All that for just one ticket, which also included the use of public transport. Our Highlights for Families Last year, I took #MuseumBoy with me for the first time, and we had a grand time together. All good things come in threes, as they say, so after my two previous posts about Berlin’s Lange Nacht der Museen, I have one final post to share with you: the big night itself! Only one more sleep until Berlin’s Lange Nacht der Museen. If you’ve been following the blog this week, you’ll know that #MuseumBoy is accompanying me for the first time this year. To say he is excited would be an understatement. He wanted to stay home from Kindergarten today, so he could pack his bag for tomorrow night. THAT’s how excited he is! It made me think, though, about what we should take along for the ride tomorrow – I wouldn’t overthink it that much were […]

Just a few more sleeps until it’s that time of year again – Berlin’s ‘Lange Nacht der Museen‘ takes place this coming Saturday. You may or may not know, that Berlin was where the whole ‘long night of museums’ idea started – museums all across town will be opening their doors all through the night, many of them putting on special events just for the occassion. It’s been going since 1997, with one to two happening per year, and I’ve attended quite a few since […]

Berlin’s 33rd Long Night of Museums – Highlights

As I mentioned on Friday, it was time for another Long Night of Museums here in Berlin at the weekend. But beforehand I was off to a MuseUp at the newly re-opened Schwules Museum (Gay Museum) to kick off the afternoon. Focus of the event was the exhibition ‘Ades Wunderland’, honouring Berlin comedy artist Ades Zabel who was there to guide us round himself. As part of the exhibition, you could dress up in the style of one of Ades’ characters – of course, I […]
