Happy 1st of Advent & a Giveaway!

Happy 1st of Advent everyone! If it feels like it’s come around quickly this year, you’d be right. The 27th November is the earliest date that the first Advent Sunday can fall on. On the upside, it gives us a few extra days to enjoy the festive season – and a legitimate reason to get those decorations and festive music on the go, before December!

To celebrate the 1st of Advent, I have a special giveaway for you, courtesy of the asisi Panorama Berlin. A couple of months ago, I visited the Panorama ‘Die Mauer’ (Enlg: ‘The Wall’) – which depicts a divided Berlin during the 1980s in the shadows of the Berlin Wall – with my six year old #MuseumBoy, and it made quite an impression on him. Well, on both of us, actually. You can read about our visit in my previous post >> “I spy…a divided Berlin

Now asisi is giving one of my readers the chance to win a pair of tickets, to go see the Panorama ‘Die Mauer’ for themselves. And I’m also throwing in a set of badges from their gift shop, from my extensive collection of museum souvenirs. Because, you know, Christmas and all that. And because I love my readers.

To be in with a chance to win the pair of tickets, all you need to do is leave a comment below, telling me who *you* would take with you to see the Panorama ‘Die Mauer’. All entries received by midnight Berlin time on Friday 2nd December will be put in a hat, and #MuseumBoy will draw a winner at random. Good luck!

Edit: Congratulations to Anna E. whose name was picked at random as the lucky winner! I will be in touch via email to arrange where to send the tickets, so please check your email folders to make sure you get it.

This would be perfect for me and my daughter who is 6. She just told me some weeks ago that she wants to know more about the Mauer. I grew up in the GDR and sometimes we talk about it. So we would be really happy about the tickets :)

Hi Jenny, the museum sounds wonderful and I can’t wait to take my husband and my 18-month-old toddler with me. Thank you for setting up this getaway :D

I’d love to take my 8 year old son-who, coming from Australia-has discovered a new passion for history in the year we have lived here.

My six-year-old daughter knows there was a wall in the city, but it is hard for her to understand what that means. It is also difficult for me to explain because I wasn’t here when it was still standing. I did not know about the panorama, thank you. It seems like a really good way to experience a bit of Berlin’s history.
