100 Museums Challenge: Museum No.4

What better way to start a weekend, then with a museum visit! We started my last day in Dundee with a visit to Dundee Contemporary Arts. As well as a restaurant bar with an excellent gluten free menu and a art house cinema, both of which we had frequented the night before, the DCA boasts two galleries which host a programme of temporary exhibitions.

Currently showing is an exhibition by Finnish artist duo IC-98, whose large-scale projections of extraordinary, richly detailed works, combine intricate hand drawings with digital animation. The world include a gnarled, towering tree creaking ominously in the darkened galleries, and rafts struggling amidst all-encompassing waves.

Although we didn’t have any kids with us this time, we snuck a peek in to the families room, which looked colourful and fun. We’ll have to take the #MuseumBrothers here, next time we visit Dundee!

The exhibition is free, and open daily from 11am until 6pm. The DCA itself is open from 10am until midnight. Further details on the DCA website.
