Chocolate Giveaway

News

It’s my birthday today. One of my best friends has come over for a visit from Edinburgh. I have the day off work. Our day will probably involve some museums. Happiness all round.

To share some of that happiness with you, I’m having another little giveaway. Earlier this week, I reported on the Museu de la Xocolata in Barcelona, and ever since my trip in May I”ve had some chocolate from the museum shop sitting in my fridge, waiting until it’s cool enough to mail out. And since I also reported on the Rittersport Bunte Schokowelt hier in Berlin last year, I’m throwing some Rittersport chocolate in too for good measure.

To be in with a chance to win these delicious bars of Catalonia Creme chocolate and Rittersport special edition nut mix, just leave a comment below telling me what your favourite museum is. Entry will remain open until 8pm UK time next Monday (1st October), after which I’ll select a lucky winner via the random number generator site. Good luck!

Edit: Congratulations to Corinna (comment #2) – the random number generator has selected you as the winner of the special museum-y chocolate!

My favourite museum would be the small one in the closest city to my native village.

Wasn’t even aware they had translated some parts of that site in English, but there it is! It’s a weird kind of place, like stepping in a paused past, it has an egyptology section, and a big wall with butterflies, and loads of different fascinating rocks in the geology section. I kind of associate it with my (now late) grandmother because we used to go every other time I stayed at her place during the summer.

Did I hear chocolate? I don’t have an all time favorite museum but, among the museums I visited lately the Uprising museum in Warsaw was certainly my favorite http://www.1944.pl/en/

Alles gute zum Geburtstag, Jenni! My favorite museum is Fonthill Castle and Tileworks in Doylestown PA. http://www.mercermuseum.org Mercer had such a unique vision of preserving and sharing stories of the past. He was an avid collector of Pennsylvania German cultural objects and he also made tiles- his tiles cover floors/ceilings/walls of his home, the tile works and the museum.

Difficult but probably the Vasa museum in Stockholm. The gobsmackingly, dramatic entry is fabulous.
